Rajkumar Rao and cast members announce the release of Stree 2.
One of the most memorable works of patron Dinesh Vijan was the 2018 movie
Stree. It was directed by Amar Kaushik and is one of the most well received horror
comedy films of all time. After 5 years the ensemble cast came together to announce the release of the sequel to the box office megahit. The cast addressed the stage at Jio studio’s Together event to announce that Stree 2 will hit the theatres soon. Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Aparshakthi Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee will be returning for Stree 2. The movie is said to release in theatres on August 31, 2024. To reveal the release date,
the cast performed a skit on stage.
The skit opens with Stree taking over the stage with the expression ‘ oh stree kal
ana ’ written in a distance and a frightful musical score playing in the background.
Pankaj concludes the spoof by publicizing the Stree 2 release date. Stree is
predicated on a communal legend in Karnataka ‘ Nale Ba ’ which translates to ‘
Come henceforth ’. It’s based on an urban legend about a witch who kidnaps men
alone at night and only leaves their garments ahead.
First time filmmaker Amar Kaushik piloted the horror comedy movie with Dinesh
Vijan and Raj & D.K. Back in 2017, the marketable megahit Stree, bombed the box
office with a collection of 125 crores. The film played a pivotal part in making horror
comedy a mainstream order in Bollywood. And now 6 times subsequently goods
are moving presto at the Maddock Office to take Stree 2 into action.
The shoot is said to start in July 2024. Dinesh Vijan’s horror comedy creation is
only expanding with Stree 2, Bhediya 2, and a lately announced Vampire film.
Actor Varaun Dhawan took to the same stage to announce his return in Bhediya 2.
Stree was a game changer for the makers as well as the cult. With the script nearly
completed, the crew moves into the pre-product stage this month.
Apart from the main leads, the movie is also said to have a special appearance of
Varun Dhawan as Bhediya. While Bhediya too had a brief appearance of the stree
cast. Stree 2 is also said to be the first film where characters from the horror
universe jump into one another’s narratives.
