Ekta Kapoor was called upon by the Supreme Court for her uncensored XXX web series on Alt Balaji. The court said the web series should have some boundaries regarding the sexual scenes and the kind of language and comments being used.
On Friday, the Supreme Court summoned Ekta Kapoor for her uncensored web series on the OTT platform Alt Balaji. The Court said that she should put a halt to the type of content she’s allowing on the platform as it’s polluting the minds of youngsters with wrong ideas and messages. The Court said she should set limits for the type of content: the sexual scenes and the kind of language and language used.
During the trial, the judge said that the producer was taking advantage of the platform and making things that were bad for the minds of young people. The former added that youngsters are getting the wrong ideas and messages in their minds and they are intrigued by the same. Because the majority of the population has access to these platforms, this type of scene and language should be censored.
Over the past few years, the platform Alt Balaji is in the news for creating sexually focused web series such as Gandi Baat ( 1- 5 seasons), Ragini MMS 2 and 3, and now XXX-uncensored. The first season of Gandi Baat was first aired in the year 2018 and is continuing seasons which attracted the teenage audience and media as well. Later on, the producer came up with another series XXX-uncensored which had an explicit amount of sexual scenes with strong and abusive language.
The trial court passed on the case to the higher court, which rubbished the plea to dismiss the case. The court summoned the lawyer and said, “It’s an order to your client that this type of content should not be taken lightly. The creative people of the series should have some boundaries and should not comment on any community or any particular person.
The case was originally registered in Bihar’s Begusarai by Sambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman who said that the series used filthy language and commented on an army officer’s wife in the series. He also said the episode was insulting to the service community and their family members. He claimed that these series were portraying the wrong image in front of the world.
