The petitioners demanded the Supreme Court’s constitution bench to take the matters seriously on the Hijab row of Karnataka. “We are not going to interpret the Quran, we may not be equipped to do so”,
said the bench of justices Supreme Court on hijab case hearing which included Sudhanshu Dhulia and Hemant Gupta. It was a four hour long hearing regarding the hijab issue of Karnataka as it is an essential religious practice.
The high court was criticized by senior counsels like Kapil Sibal, Colin Gonsalves, Meenakshi Arora, AM Dar and Jayna Kothari where they argued that the basis of discrimination on the grounds of religion and gender was dusted off and only the religious arguments were heard.

The counsels pointed out that the fundamental rights of a girl going and attending her school and college should not be a big hurdle for her. They also stated that hijab is a part of identity and persona for many girls and it is not even debatable. They want the issue to go to a larger bench.
Gonsalves stirred the room with his question “if a turban is allowed in school, why not hijab?”

,” said Alam. he also said that privacy is attached to a person and not to a place.
