Taapsee Pannu has just released a teaser of her new movie, Shabaash Mithu. The film is based on cricketer Mithali Raj, who is the captain of the Indian Women’s cricket team and has broken numerous records.
The teaser highlights both the women’s cricket team’s and the legendary cricketer’s accomplishments. Mithali’s life is depicted in this film, which includes highs and lows, and many more. While Taapsee Pannu plays the lead, Vijay Raaz is anticipated to have a significant role in the film.
The announcer states at the start of the teaser that she has been the most consistent,’ and that it is a magical moment for Indian cricket. Taapsee gets ready and marches onto the pitch, cheered on by the commentators and the audience.
Last year, Taapsee had shared a photo following the shoot. She wrote that she was 8 when someone made her dream that one day, cricket won’t be just a gentleman’s game. Even they will have their team, an identity. ‘Women in Blue’.
She added, “We are coming soon. It’s a film wrap! Get ready to cheer for the World Cup 2022!” She used the hashtags #WomenInBlue” and #ShabaashMithu in between.
Shabaash Mithu was shot in both domestic and foreign settings. It is produced by Viacom18 Studios, Ajit Andhare is the creative producer, directed by Srijit Mukherji and written by Priya Aven.
Taapsee Pannu said under the post of the teaser that, “In this Gentlemen’s sport, she did not bother to rewrite history. In her post she used the hashtags #AbKhelBadlega, #BreakTheBias, and #ShabaashMithu. Mithali Raj also posted the teaser on her Instagram account with the same caption.
On Mithali Raj’s birthday in 2019, Taapsee Pannu announced her involvement with the project and shared photos of her and with the cricketer on Twitter.
India’s women national cricket team’s captain
Mithali Dorai Raj, an Indian cricketer, and the Test and ODI captain of India’s women’s national team, was born on December 3, 1982. She bats right-handed in the upper middle order and bowls right-arm leg breaks on occasion.
Raj is the all-time leading run scorer in women’s international cricket and is widely regarded as one of the finest female cricketers of all time. She owns multiple international cricket records.
Meanwhile, another biopic based on the life of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami, Chakda Xpress, is coming with Anushka Sharma playing the lead. After the 2018 film Zero, this will be Anushka Sharma’s first project.
