After the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) agreed to reimburse equal match costs to both male and female players, Anushka Sharma and Taapsee Pannu rushed to social media to share their joy.
The decision of equally paying women and men cricketers came on Thursday, October 27. Anushka and Taapsee couldn’t keep their calm and expressed their pleasure with the BCCI ruling.

Talking about Taapsee, she posted on her Twitter account, mentioning how BCCI had taken a great decision after announcing equal pay for women cricketers as the men cricketers receive. Pannu had also appreciated BCCI for initiating a one step forward against the discrimination.
As mentioned above, Anushka Sharma also expressed her joy towards this BCCI’s decision. The actress took to her Instagram Stories and posted a screenshot of the tweet of Jay Shah, BCCI Secretary.
What did BCCI say in its announcement?
In a historic announcement, the BCCI declared on Thursday, that all officially contracted men’s and women’s Team India players will get equal remuneration. Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, made the announcement on Twitter.
Jay Shah in his tweet as the BCCI Secretary also made the match fees that will be paid to the Women Cricketers public. The match fees for the Tests is INR 15 Lakhs, for the T20Is (Twenty-20 Internationals) is INR 3 Lakhs and for the ODIs (One Day Internationals) is INR 6 Lakhs. In addition to the match fees, Shah also made himself clear that paying women equally for the equal work as the men do is his first priority and obligation towards the women cricketers.

While, Anushka Sharma, the lady-love of Virat Kohli, has always been a great support to her husband. Anushka had shared on her Instagram Story when the Indian Minister of External affairs gave a signed bat of Virat Kohli to the deputy Prime Minister of Australia. This was not the end. Recently, when Pakistan got defeated by Indian cricket team then too, Anushka wrote a heartfelt note for her husband’s miraculous performance at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in India Versus Pakistan on the eve of Diwali.
Further, the actress is not only supporting her husband, but also on the sidelines, working on a biopic, Chakda ‘Xpress, of former Indian bowler in Women’s Cricket Team, Jhulan Goswami.
