Uddhav Thackeray Wanted To Rejoin NDA Last Year, Claims Team Eknath Shinde.
Eknath Shinde who was once known as the MVA alliance, insisted on reunion with BJP, but remained non-committal about the patch-up with Mr. Thackeray.

He said that, Shiv Sena, never left the NDA officially. Last year, Mr. Thackeray agreed to form alliance with the BJP, but after the suspension of 12 BJP MLAs, the plan did not work out. He said after suggesting the alliance with BJP, “I have tried. So why don’t you try?”
The Sena, Mr. Shinde said, is a faction that follows the ideology of its founder, Mr. Balasaheb Thackeray. It remined non-committal about any patch up with Mr. Thackeray. Mr. Shinde said that they are taking after Balasaheb Thackeray and are waiting to see who else joins them in future.
Another mystifying note, Mr. Thackeray mentioned for the control of the party, “Eknath Shinde has not become the party leader (paksh pramukh), Eknath Shinde has become the Chief Minister”.
Mr. Shewale, an MP from Mumbai, has been accepted as the leader of Shiv Sena in the Lok Sabha after 12 MPs requested. He was declared as the leader by Speaker Om Birla, at the Lok Sabha.
Mr. Thackeray had been working on the prevention of the split that occurred during Mr. Shinde’s visit to Delhi. The MPs from the party, urged Mr. Uddhav Thackeray to change his vote in the Presidential race and support NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu, instead of the opposition’s, Yashwant Sinha.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi government, saw so much push and pull last year, once they were confirmed about the getting back of Shiv Sena and BJP together. Sharad Pawar, who rule the Nationalist Congress Party, a part of the ruling alliance, pointed out the differences and said, “When a government is run, it is bound to face some issues”.
Shinde’s visit had a key purpose as the sources say. It was to discuss the cabinet formation with the BJP’s central leadership. Oath was taken by the new Chief Minister on 30th June, 2022 along with BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis as the Deputy. As of now they are the only two ministers in the state cabinet.
