Kapil Sharma got enrobed in a controversy with Vivek Agnihotri after the latter claimed that “The Kapil Sharma show” makers refused to promote “The Kashmir Files
“The Kashmir files” is an upcoming movie set to release on 11th March 2022, starring stellar actors like Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar etc., depicting the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the late 80s and early 90s.
Alongside the movie, The Kapil Sharma show has been making headlines recently and it is not for the reasons the makers would want it to be.
The show has been under fire since Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s tweet claiming that the show makers refused to promote his movie “The Kashmir Files” on the show as it doesn’t have “big commercial value”. He further wrote, “I don’t get to decide who should be invited on @KapilSharmaK9 show. It’s his and his producer’s choice whom he wants to invite.”
Soon after the tweet the fans and audience were enraged to the point that hashtags like #BoycottTheKapilSharmaShow were seen trending on social media platforms and fans demanded an explanation.
Kapil Sharma broke his silence for the first time on this matter on Thursday after a Twitter user expressing his disappointment caught his attention. The tweet by the user read, “#KashmirFiles को प्रोमोट करने से क्यों घबरा गए कपिल? किस बात का डर था जो #VivekRanjanAgnihotri और उनकी फिल्म की सुप्रतिष्ठित स्टारकास्ट को अपने शो पर आने का न्योता नही दिया?? I used to be a big fan of yours bro, but you have disappointed me and millions of #TKSS fans. Boycotting U”
Kapil responded to the tweet denying the claims saying they are not true and that there is no point in explaining it to those who have already believed the one-sided story.
