Vivek Agnihotri’s film, The Kashmir Files, cross the Rs 100- crore mark on Holi, March 18.
The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, emerged as the most talked-about film of 2022. It also emerged as one of the most successful post-pandemic movies as far as box office collections are concerned. It is based on the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from Jammu and Kashmir in the 1990s. The Kashmir Files has entered the 100 crore club at the box office.
The film created history with its 8-day collection (19.15 crore) at the box office. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter on Saturday, “# TheKashmirFiles creates history… Day 8 of #TKF [19.15 cr] has surpassed both # Baahubali2 [19.75 cr] and # Dangal [18.59 cr], the two iconic hits…#TKF has joined the ranks of all-time blockbusters…Friday, 19.15 cr. The Kashmir Files feature Anupama Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, Chinmay Mandlekar, and Bhasha Sumbli. The film was released on March 11. It was declared tax-free in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. The reviews of The Kashmir Files read, “Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri makes it clear from the word go that his film, The Kashmir Files, will not be subtle.
A gut-wrenching watch, it is based on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits who faced a massacre and forced exodus from their own land by the Islamic militants. ” Seeing the response of the audience, the movie will be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
