The Russian army has been ordered to broaden its Ukraine advance “from all directions” after Ukraine said it had repulsed an attack on capital Kyiv but “sabotage groups” remained in the city.Â
Ukraine has reprobated all Russian suggestions that it was disapproving to negotiate a ceasefire. Later, it was not ready to accept “unacceptable conditions” after the Kremlin cited the country for prolonging the military dispute.Â
Meanwhile, its Western allies and Germany have agreed to cut Russia from the SWIFT global payment system. A spokesperson for the German government said a third sanction package focused on stopping the invasion. Â
Joe Biden President has ordered the US State Department to supply an additional $350 million worth of weapons from US stocks to Ukraine. Also, Germany and France are sending military equipment.Â
Here are the latest developments on Russia-Ukraine Crisis:
- On Saturday, Russian forces pounded Ukrainian cities with artillery and cruise missiles, but President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said capital Kyiv remained in Ukrainian hands.Â
- Now, Russia has at least 50 percent of its massive invasion force inside Ukraine, one of the officials said, as per the report of the Pentagon.Â
- According to the news agency AFP Russia’s invasion force is being slowed and frustrated by unexpectedly stiff resistance from Ukrainian troops, keeping them outside Kyiv, a senior US defense official has said.Â
- President Zelensky Ukraine has spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking “political support” at the United Nations. In the wake of India abstaining from a vote to condemn Russia’s invasion that Moscow vetoed.Â
- Yesterday, 198 civilians, including three children, had been killed in the conflict and 1,115 wounded, said Ukrainian Health Minister Viktor Lyashko.Â
- “We are striking the enemy around Kyiv. The enemy is not moving for now,” said Oleksiy Arestovych. Â
- Around 3,500 Russian soldiers have been killed or injured so far, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said. Â
- Fifty thousand have entered Hungary and Romania, crossing into Moldova. Â
- Poland has said 100,000 refugees have crossed its border from Ukraine since Russia invaded, with the UN estimating that a similar number are internally displaced. Â
