An excerpt of “Back to December” from Taylor Swift‘s album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) can be heard in the latest teaser for The Summer I Turned Pretty on Amazon Prime.
The Summer I Turned Pretty has been given a second season, as was previously announced. The creators have published the trailer for the upcoming season. On Friday, July 14, the first three episodes of the second season will be released on Prime Video. Thereafter, fresh episodes will air once a week until the season’s finale on Friday, August 18.
The singer is prepared to embrace December yet again.
In a brand-new trailer for the Amazon Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty, starring Lola Tung and Jackie Chung, the pop artist debuted a sneak peek of her upcoming re-recorded rendition of the ballad she released in 2010 titled “Back to December,”
On the 29th of June, Taylor shared a video for the adolescent drama, which featured the re-recorded song” August” from her 2020 album Folklore and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), which will be released on July 7.
The video’s cheeky description read, “Crying (Taylor’s Version).”
The forthcoming second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, which launches on the fourteenth of July, features a trailer that depicts Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), Conrad (Christopher Briney), and Belly (Lola Tung) sharing memories and working to safeguard Cousins Beach’s “magic” mourning the passing of the boys’ mother Susannah (Rachel Blanchard).
Taylor sings in a montage, “Then I think about summer, all the beautiful times.” I watched you laughin’ from the passenger’s side.”
Naturally, there was also a nod to another Taylor project in the trailer: the sheets Belly is wearing in a scene with Belly are from the identical bedding assortment as the spirits that appear in the 2022 music video for the track “Anti-Hero.” Taylor Nation, her management account, affirmed, “It’s them. The linens. The sheets are them. “It’s them!”
Swift was previously featured in the Prime Video production based on the same-named trilogy of books by Jenny Han: She made her musical breakthrough with “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” from her 2014 album 1989 in the very first season trailer of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Additionally, her song “August” from 2020’s Folklore makes an appearance in the first season 2 teaser, which was made available on June 8. Thursday’s fresh preview travels across the calendar, switching from Swift’s “August” towards “Back to December.”
As was previously said, once the first teaser debuted, “August” returned to Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs at No. 17. Whether “Back to December (Taylor’s Version)” will be published earlier to capitalise on the new trailer is still to be determined.
“Back to December” was the second single from Taylor Swift’s 2010 album Speak Now. The song has been re-recorded and will be released next week, on July 7, along with new “From the Vault” songs.
