Shredded his hands to bit
Tom Holland is very much in headlines due to his Hot off the success of much-awaited “Spider-Man: No Way Home. , now he is back into action as Nathan Drake in the video game adaptation “Uncharted.”
Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in the 2016 ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and featured in the ‘Avengers’ series, headlining three ‘Spider-Man’ movies, including last year’s global blockbuster ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’
Uncharted is based on the same name’s Naughty Dog video game series. It will examine the beginnings of Nathan Drake and Sully as they team up to seek a famous buried treasure before the vicious fortune hunter Moncada gets his hands on it. In the film, Drake and Sully will investigate clues to discover the former’s long-lost brother, Sam, as per Screenrant.
“I’ve been playing two characters who were very much popular for climbing things,” the 25-year-old British actor told Reuters. There are no similarities between Spider-Man and Nathan Drake at all. Still, when making these big films, it’s exciting to see how far you can push the limits, what you can do physically, and design these sequences to be unique, fresh, and new. To create this unique style.
Tom Holland (Nathan drake ) is the male equivalent of Lara Croft breaking into secret tombs and avoiding deadly traps to seek out ancient artifacts within the gaming world.
The film has been in development in one form or another since 2008, and Tom Holland joined the cast of the project’s latest iteration in 2017. Holland always does a fair share of daring stunts, but the Film promo focuses on a sequence where drake falls out of the back of a plane and struggles to get back on board. Luckily, Holland is safe and sound with his feet back on the ground, and though expectations for the movie have been tempered by its time in production limbo, the sequence in question looks exciting. Holland described the stunt as
“the hardest thing as a physical point of view I’ve ever done,” spending nearly every day for five weeks in a studio being wired up 100 feet (31m) from the ground. This scene took five weeks to shoot, which seems like an incredibly long time hanging around in the air. But it seems par for the course when considering the long and winding path. The film has since reportedly had to undergo reshoots along with COVID-19 related shooting delays.
We shredded our hands to bits, and it was exhausting but rightly so,” he said. “It’s an awe-inspiring sequence, and I think that kind of level of physicality comes through on-screen, but it was knackering. It was ferocious.”
Mark Wahlberg was initially supposed to play Drake in the adaptation but was moved to the older mentor character of Sully when production finally got underway. “At first, I was like ,wait for a second, I’ve got one more fight left in me, but then I was like, this is perfect,” said the 50-year-old American actor.
“We enjoyed harping on about Sully being a little bit older, always have some excuse not to engage with the physicality… I’m certainly embracing getting older.” As Spider-Man and Drake, Holland is fast becoming the most prominent action hero for his generation. “A rom-com would be nice if I’m honest, but… I like pushing myself and seeing what I can do,” said Holland.
“That said, I’m actively looking for a movie where I can lie down and do nothing for a while. Uncharted’ will be released in theaters on February 18, 2022.
