1. TXT (TOMORROW X TOGETHER)
The first place in popularity is taken by the talented boy group TXT. The group was formed under the Big Hit Music label. The group consists of five smart, young, and talented boys. Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai make up the group. They made their debut on March 4, 2019. It is common to have a fandom name nowadays. The group also has a fandom named MOA (Moments of Alwaysness). Soobin was officially announced as the leader of the group.
The speciality of this music group is that they have no particular positions for them. It draws the attention of many people, as they are talented equally. They became the ambassadors for the Korean skincare brand, It’s Skin, and were also appointed as the models for the Korean student uniform brand, Skoolooks, in the year 2019. 2. Stray Kids
The next group to have worldwide popularity is the Stray Kids. The group is signed under one of the top three biggest music labels in South Korea, JYP Ent. Stray Kids were selected through a reality show in 2017. The band includes Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. There are eight members in total. Bang Chan is the leader of the boy band. Their fans are called “stay”. They are the first fourth-generation K-pop group to surpass one million sales of their album.
They have released two studio albums, three compilation albums, one video album, and one single album. They won six New Artist Awards in 2018, Best New Male Artist at the Mnet Awards in the same year, and numerous other accolades.They are said to take over the K-pop world after the disbandment of many famous 3rd generation groups. 3. ITZY
The third-ranking goes to ITZY, the girl group formed under the same music label as Stray Kids. They have been trained under JYP Ent. for almost five years. The girl group includes Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryoung, and Yuna, with Yeji as the leader of the group. They successfully debuted in the year 2019 by releasing their single album, It’s Different. They are also known for re-making their songs into English versions.
Their latest album, Crazy in Love, was released in 2021 and has been a huge success around the world. They have a lovely fandom named “MIDZY”. The title song, “LOCO,” gained them a separate fan base for the song itself. They are also announced as the ambassadors of the beauty brand, Maybelline. They are the first 4th generation group to be announced as the global ambassadors of this giant cosmetic brand.
4. ENHYPEN
The fourth place in this list is ENHYPEN. The boy band was formed under BELIFT LAB, which is a joint venture between CJ ENM and Hybe Corporation. The group was formed through a survival competition, like many other K-pop groups. They were selected for the programme I-Land in 2020.
The group includes seven boys: Jungwon, Heesung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-Ki. Jungwon is the leader of this band. Their fandom is called “ENGENE”. They won the Rookie Disk Award at the Golden Disk Awards in 2021, Best New Artist at the Seoul Music Awards, and many other awards are recorded in their achievement book. On October 25, 2021, they debuted on the Billboard 200 chart, ranking # 1 for their song Dimension: Dilemma.
5. ATEEZ
The group Ateez is formed under one of the most famous music labels in South Korea, KQ Entertainment. They made their debut on October 24, 2018. The group is composed of eight talented young artists: Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. Hongjoong is appointed as the leader of this rising K-pop group.
Many K-pop fans are assuming that they will take over the K-pop music scene along with the other band, Stray Kids. Both bands are assumed to be Kings of K-pop for the 4th generation. Their fans are named “ATINY”. The fandom’s name was officially announced after fans’ suggestions. The meaning of their fandom is that Azeez and Destiny are meant to meet each other. They won the Best Korean Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards. They are often referred to as “Global Performance Idols” for their fierce and powerful performances.
