Twitter has been losing most of its active users and this has led to the decline of posts/tweets as 90% of the posts/ tweets in Twitter are uploaded or posted by the ‘disappearing’ active users.
10% of Twitter’s active users are no longer seen to be logging in to Twitter anymore. The 10% active users are categorized under the label “heavy tweeters”.
These heavy tweeters make up approximately 10% of the active users space who post tweets or content on Twitter daily.
About 90% of the posts or tweets on the social media site are posted by these heavy tweeters. According to an internal company research report, these heavy tweeters are no longer active in the site.
In a recent exclusive report by Reuter’s Sheila Dang, the internal report by the title “Where did the Tweeters Go?” stated that there has been an abrupt and definite decline of these heavy tweeters ever since the pandemic was announced back in 2020.
According to the internal report as reported by Reuters, “heavy tweeters” are defined as Twitter users that log in to Twitter on a maximum of six or seven days in a week.
On a weekly basis, these heavy tweeters post or tweet around three to four times.
Additionally, the internal report states that the diminishing populace of active tweeters are responsible for generating and increasing half of the social media company’s global revenue.
The social media company’s internal report said that conventionally sought-after topics on the social media platform like news, sports, entertainment, esports and topics about celebrities is losing its popularity among the domain of English-speaking users, as reported by Reuters.
The internal report states that for the last two years there has been an extension and a growth or interest in topics that pertain to cryptocurrency and NSFW, or not safe for work.
NSFW usually refers to any sort of content that promote or contains any form of sexual subject matter, ideas relating to nudity, or violence in various degrees of extent.
Whereas fascination towards and high demand in matters or topics related to cryptocurrencies had an uprising in the year 2021. Subsequently, the activity seemed to have decreased ever since the crypto crash incident during this year’s summer season.
According to Reuters, the internal report of Twitter also mentioned about the loss or deprivation of the number of active users who had interests or were interested in themes of fashion and fashion related subject matter like the Kardashians.
The internal report makes the assumption that most of Twitter’s heavy tweeters and active users have now moved on to other highly demanded and used social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok.
When asked by the Insider for a comment, Twitter did not give a response. There has not been any details nor any conclusive information released by Twitter about the number of English-speaking users of Twitter.
Even the percentile or aggregate of English speaker users of the social media platform have been kept under wraps till now.
According to a report by DataReportal, the United States has an estimated number of around 83.4 active Twitter users. This entails that the United States has way more active users of Twitter in comparison to any other country in the world.
On the other hand, the United Kingdom is reported to contain around 19.8 million active users of Twitter. This data was gathered in July by the Singapore-based digital consultancy Kepios, conforming to DataReportal.
Billionaire Elon Musk is under preparations to close his deal with Twitter to turn it into a private company.
The deal is up for $44 billion dollars and Musk is very near to finalizing the deal. However, Musk was handed a Friday deadline by a Delaware judge to tie up the deal.
If Musk is unable to meet the deadline, experts are of the opinion that he will face a trial that could potentially scrape his deal with Twitter
He states that he was apprehensive about potential bots on the social media app and site. These bots, according to Musk, have the likeliness of inflating or blowing up the social media’s site value.
