Uddhav Thackrey, the former chief minister of Maharashtra was invited by the Congress for joining the “Bharat Jodo yatra” on November 6.
What was the invitation about?
Shiv Sena party leader Uddhav Thackrey received an invitation from the Congress. This invitation was in context to the “Bharat Jodo yatra” march.
Along with Uddhav Thackrey, a senior leader of the party, Balashaeb Thorat, Ashok Chavan, and HK Patil met Uddhav Thackrey at his residence in Mumbai. On November 6, there is a rally is going to take place to which Uddhav Thackrey is going to be invited.
Mr. Thackrey is expected to be in the rally on November 6, along with many senior leaders and other fellow leaders of the party with members of the Congress present.
How long is the Bharat Jodo Yatra?
The Bharat Jodo yatra began its yatra on September 7, 2022. The Yatra started from Kanyakumari (the southernmost tip of India) in Tamilnadu. The same Yatra is all set to finish in Jammu and Kashmir. In total, 3500 km were covered.
For this Yatra, the then-party member, Rahul Gandhi was at the foot march. So far, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka have been completely covered. Now, the Yatra had just marked its entry in Andhra Pradesh as well.
Who all have joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra?
According to sources, the chiefs of NCP, Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule have given their support to this Yatra. They(Uddhav Thackeray and his party) are expected to welcome the Bharat Jodo Yatra when it is all set to enter Maharashtra next month, in November 2022. Currently, there is a heated legal battle going on between Uddhav Thackrey and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Sinde.
Eknath Shinde was one of the 31 rebel ministers against the Uddhav Thackrey government. He (Eknath Shinde) is the current chief minister of Maharashtra.
Earlier, he formed the coalition government with Congress and the nationalist Congress party in the month of June. Now, Shinde formed his own government with BJP in June 2022.
