Rahul Gandhi Violates Security Guidelines, Faces Criticism from CRPF and BJP
Rahul Gandhi Repeatedly Violates Security Guidelines, CRPF to Address Matter Separately
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has informed the Union home ministry that security arrangements were made for Rahul Gandhi as per guidelines, but that Gandhi himself has repeatedly violated those guidelines on several occasions since 2020, with a total of 113 violations observed and communicated.
The CRPF has also stated that Gandhi violated security guidelines during the Delhi leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, and that it will be addressing this matter separately. This information comes in response to a letter from Congress leader KC Venugopal, who had raised concerns about the security of the yatra being compromised several times since it entered Delhi on December 24.
The Delhi Police, which is under the Union home ministry, has been criticized by Venugopal for failing to control crowds and maintain a perimeter around Gandhi, who has been assigned Z+ security.
Rahul Gandhi Responds to Name-Calling: ‘It Shows the Fear in Their Hearts’
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has stated in an interview that he does not feel bad when people call him “Pappu,” a term that has been used by his detractors.
Gandhi argued that the name-calling shows the fear in the hearts of those who use it and that he welcomes it, saying “I feel good. Please take my name more.” Gandhi also pointed out that his grandmother, Indira Gandhi, was also called names, including “Gungi Gudiya,” before being referred to as the “Iron Lady of India.”
The Bharat Jodo Yatra, a political campaign being undertaken by Gandhi, is being seen as an attempt by him to shake off the “Pappu” label. The campaign has received significant attention and has been the subject of discussion on social media and in television studios. Recently, Gandhi’s decision to walk with just a t-shirt on in the cold in Delhi during the yatra garnered attention, with some praising his dedication and others making sarcastic comments.

The Congress party has announced plans to hold a three-day plenary session in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur in February 2024, and to run a campaign called “Haath se haath jodo abhiyaan” (Join Hands) from January 26 for two months.
The campaign will involve block-level padyatras covering all gram panchayats and booths, and will involve the distribution of a letter from Rahul Gandhi discussing the message of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, along with a “charge sheet” against the Modi government.
The campaign follows the “overwhelming success” of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which the Congress has said focuses on communicating the message of equality, fraternity, and harmony to people from all sections of society, particularly youth, women, farmers, and the working class. The party has accused the prime minister of denying, distracting, and dividing the country and of using inflammatory rhetoric to polarize society.
