“You can’t have everything you want, but you can have the things that matter to you. and the thinking that empowers you to work hard for a long period of time”
~ Marrisa Mayer
There is a strong line between work and rest. A professional life speaks different things about us whereas a personal life speaks something else.
We often fail to put a distinction between work and life where we can freely devote time to our body and mind.
For an individual, both mind and body are important but as a member of society, we have the motive to get up and to find the goal or complete the goal of our lives.
Some people have won while others can carry a lot of fulfilling goals. As the idea of life is not the same for everyone, people tend to involve themselves too much in work or too much in rest.
Humans are social animals and we all have a goal attached to our life which tells a lot about us as a person but what about balancing work and rest?
When we talk about rest we are highlighting personal care or self-care routines in our daily life which are often ignored giving an excuse for work but is that really fair to our body and mind?
A boundary between work and rest defines a boundary between professional and personal life. Rest is somewhere when we take a pose from daily activities to provide our mind and body special care.
and this is often a question, how to take care of our mind or body? The body covers the physical aspect of us where we also talk about having a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet exercising daily and walking more often.
but when it comes to the mental aspect, we are often clueless. Taking care of ourselves mentally and balancing work is something that comes together carrying a journal is something that helps us to manage our tasks of the day and stay more organized.
even having a small meditation session in the morning; when we tend to use our phones and check social media we can take a few deep breaths and hydrate ourselves as much as we can.
following even little tasks throughout the day that promotes rest and our product of life as well as something which will help us also in the future.
Depriving oneself too much at work can possibly come with a lot of consequences like if you have a job where you have to sit in front of a computer it can affect both your mental and Physical health.
where you have to keep seated in front of a screen and with a lot of work pressure, this simply displays a high amount of pressure even on the eyes and not effective body movement which leads to obesity.
and the mental consequences of depriving oneself of too much work can be anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, and hypertension. This can even affect the social part, where we can also be stressed, maybe our family or friends because of our work pressure.
Being aware of the consequences of overworking or resting a lot is countless but putting emphasis on balancing the work life and personal life which includes rest is something that is essential for an individual.
a job might last up to 30 to 40 years of life but after that it is you facing your life as an individual. Whatever you will be doing during your working years will reflect a lot about how you are going to spend your life with yourself after your job.
