The report got prepared by the United Nations SustainableDevelopment Solutions Network. It lists how happy each country is, based on many different things, but mostly on how happy people say they are. The most recent list got finished before Russia invaded Ukraine.

The Idea Behind Ranking
The World Happiness Report rates 150 nations. It has based on real GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, kindness, and views of corruption. Each variable calculates a populated-weighted average score on a scale of 0 to 10.
Then these variables are monitored through time and compared to other nations every year. The study rated 146 countries this year. According to this year’s World Happiness Report, the present difficult times have resulted in an increase in individuals assisting others.
Countries that have been in the top ten last year went up and down the rankings this year. Only Austria is no longer in the top ten. Afghanistan, on the other contrary, was named the world’s unhappiest nation. Afghanistan got damaged by conflict, which was at the bottom of the list last year. Afghanistan has seen its human crisis deteriorate since the Taliban took back control in August after the withdrawal of US-led forces.
“This index serves as a striking reminder of the tangible and intangible harm that war does to its many victims,” stated co-author Jan-Emmanuel De Neve. Lebanon is in the midst of an economic crisis. The country has dropped to second from the last on the 146-nation index, barely ahead of Zimbabwe.
The researchers also looked at data from social media to see how people felt before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. In 18 nations, they found “significant increases in anxiety and depression,” but a decrease in anger.
Low Rank of India
On the list, India is placed 136, even lower than Pakistan, which is ranked 121. Twitter users started slamming the Indian government. Users started questioning Indian Government about reasons for this low rank.
Conclusion
In various parts of the globe, both balance and peace play an important role in leading a happy life. Social support, kindness, and government transparency are vital for happiness. Leaders from throughout the world should pay attention. Indeed, politics should serve the people, not the rulers’ power, as long-held sages taught.
