Actor Pankaj Tripathi has built his career successfully in Bollywood after years of hard work.
What was Pankaj Tripathi’s work till now?
Over the years,Pankaj created a niche for himself with some career-defining roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Fukrey, Newton, and Bareilly Ki Barfi, among others.This small-town actor started his career with brief roles in movies like Run, Bunty Aur Babli, and Omkara.
He has also held a special position in the digital platform, Courtesy of Netflix shows Sacred Games, Amazon prime video series Mirzapur, and Disney Plus Hotstar’s Criminal Justice. But a look at his filmography suggests that he rarely worked outside the Hindi industry. For the unversed, he also starred in a small role in the Hollywood film Extraction which also starred Randeep Hooda. Presently, Pankaj Tripathi is now working in a prominent role in Ravi Jadhav’s directorial. Recently, it was announced that the 46-year-old actor will essay former prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the biopic titled Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon Yeh Desh Rehna Chahiye – ATAL.
Why is Pankaj so reluctant to work in any language except Hindi?
According to Hindustan Times, recently the actor attended the International Film Festival of India in Goa. At the event, the Mirzapur star spoke about working in the Hollywood or south film industries and explained why he is not willing to work in a Hollywood or a regional project. The actor also added that it would be very hard to “bring out the feeling” in any other language. He mentioned that he is willing to work in any language if someone writes a Hindi-speaking character for him.
The Mirzapur star said, “While language is not a barrier for me, I prefer Hindi cinema. It’s because I am comfortable with Hindi, main uss language ko samajhta hoon, uski bhavnao ko, nuances ko behtar samajhta hoon (I understand the language better, I understand its emotions and nuances better). Forget Hollywood, I get offers from Telugu and Malayalam filmmakers but I feel I won’t be able to do justice to those films because I won’t be able to speak the language.”
What will be the future project of Pankaj?
Pankaj Tripathi last starred in the film Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga. The actor now has the third film in the Fukrey franchise and the third season of Mirzapur in the pipeline.
