It is undeniable these days that K-pop albums have seen a rise in the number of listeners and these listeners have agreed that in some albums, certain B-side tracks steal the limelight from the Title Tracks and overshadow them.
Some of the B-side tracks that have stolen the thunder according to the fandoms were discussed recently at an online forum.
“Polaroid Love” by ENHYPEN
The first track chosen by many is ENHYPEN’s “Polaroid Love”. It is the tenth track on their repackaged album that was released on January 10, Dimension: Answer. “Blessed-Cursed” is the title track on the album and while it did well in many ways, “Polaroid Love” was a showstopper. This is evident from the fact that “Blessed-Cursed” has under 56 million streams on Spotify while “Polaroid Love” is way ahead with around 147 streams. This makes it their third most streamed song on Spotify after “Fever” and “Drunk-Dazed”.
“DARARI” by TREASURE
The next B-side track netizens agreed on is “DARARI” by TREASURE. It is the third track on the boy band’s first EP which was released on February 15, The Second Step: Chapter One. The title track of the album “JIKJIN” was nothing less than a hit, but “DARARI” outperformed as it went viral on TikTok. Again, the streaming proves the song’s popularity as “JIKJIN” has just about 59 million streams while “DARARI” has a whopping 131 million streams.
“A Journey” by DAY6 Member Wonpil
The final B-side track is none other than “A Journey” by Wonpil of DAY6. It is a part of Wonpil’s debut studio album as a soloist, Pilmography released on February 7. It is the tenth and final track of the album. The title track of the album is “Voiceless”, and it does have more streams on Spotify – 1.63 million compared to the B-side track’s 1.25 million – the difference is not much, and it is a clear favorite in the fandom.
