After a large fire broke out at a private hospital in the city of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on Monday, at least eight persons, including four patients, lost their lives. The five people who were injured as a result of the incident have been sent to a hospital in the area for treatment.

According to a report by the PTI news agency, Jabalpur Collector Dr. Ilayaraja T. stated that four patients, a caregiver, and three staff members of the hospital, which was situated in a ground plus three-story building, perished in the fire that has since been extinguished.
According to him, two of the five people who were injured were in serious condition and had been admitted to the intensive care unit of the government medical college in Jabalpur. He stated that the patients and other persons in the hospital with 30 beds had been evacuated and that there was no one left stuck within the facility. According to the Collector, there were between 20 – 25 persons present in the hospital when the fire broke out.
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has declared that the relatives of kin of those who perished in the fire will receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 5 lakhs for each of their loved ones.
“This is a very tragic occurrence, and I am in continual contact with the government,” she said. It has been determined that the fire can be contained. The injured individuals have been sent to nearby hospitals for medical attention. “An investigation into the matter has been ordered, and I will keep you updated on its progress,” he stated.
The President of Droupadi Murmu expressed her deep sorrow at the news of the casualties caused by the tragic fire and extended her best wishes for a rapid recovery to those who were injured.

At approximately 2:30 in the afternoon, a fire broke out at the New Life Multi-speciality Hospital located close to Damoh Naka in the Gohalpur police station area of Jabalpur, according to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Bahuguna, who was quoted by the news agency PTI.
According to his statement, it seems that a short circuit was the origin of the fire.
