Shah Rukh Khan is to be awarded for his ‘exceptional contribution’ to the film industry, according to the organizers of the festival.
Lights, Camera, Action, it is the 2nd edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where Bollywood’s fame, The Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be felicitated on 1st December at the opening of the International Film Festival with an Honorary Award for his exceptional contribution to the film industry.
The CEO of the Red Sea International Film Festival Mohammed Al Turki said, “He has captivated audiences since his earliest performances and is one of the world’s most renowned actors working today. After 30 years in the industry, Shah Rukh Khan remains one of the most successful superstars of Indian cinema and is beloved by audiences around the world. We look forward to welcoming him to Jeddah this December”.
Shah Rukh Khan- The King Of Romance
This is an exceptional and heart-warming moment for all the Shah Rukh fans considering it’s in thousands. People go to extends just to catch a glimpse of him. On his 25th birthday, there were thousands of fans outside his house cheering and howling and celebrating his birthday who waited for hours for him to show up on his balcony and finally wave at them. Exceptionally, he has earned all this stardom and respect through his movies, his hard work & his style of acting.
Shah Rukh has many titles, the King of Bollywood, the Badshah, or King Khan but the Bollywood is forever going to cherish the title “The King Of Romance” whether it’s off-screen or on-screen. Shah Rukh Khan built his romantic image from the most iconic and the longest-running film in the history of cinema “Dilwale Dhulaniya Le Jayenge” (DDLJ) which was released 27 years ago and was recently re-released without losing its charm on 2nd November 2022 marking SRK’S 57th birthday. DDLJ was released in 18 cities across India.
It was after this movie that made Shah Rukh and Kajol as Bollywood’s No. 1 Jodi (despite never having kissed on screen. No on-screen couple has been able to replace them as the best Jodi. SRK said that only AbRam (his son) and Aaradhaya’s (Aishwarya’s daughter) future Jodi is the only one that can replace SRK & Kajol’s Jodi.

SRK has received 14 Filmfare Awards and was awarded Padma Shri by the government of India in 2005. The government of France has awarded him both the Orde des Arts et des Lettres (2007) and the fifth degree of the French Legion of Honour, the chevalier da la Legion d’Honneur. He has received 5 honorary doctorates.
SRK is shooting with Rajkumar Hirani on a movie named ‘Dunki’ for which he is coincidentally shooting at Jeddha, Saudi Arabia where he is supposed to be awarded an honorary award. He will be making a comeback on the big screen in January 2024 with Yash Raj Films ‘Pathaan’, which also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.

Red Sea International Film Festival which will conclude on December 10, will present 131 feature films and shorts from 61 countries in 41 languages.
The 1st edition of the Red Sea IFF was launched in 2019 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with Kabir Khan and Ranveer Singh’s 83 as its closing film.
