Expressing concern over climate change, President Droupadi Murmu said the effects of rising temperatures and uncertain weather patterns are visible and countermeasures must be taken before it is too late.
Addressing the inaugural function of the 18th National Scout Jamboree in Pali district of Rajasthan, President Murmu urged the volunteers to work for the protection of biodiversity, ecological balance and promotion of responsible tourism practises.

She said the threat of climate change has become more serious and the effects of rising temperatures and uncertain weather are visible and before it is too late, countermeasures must be taken.
President Murmu said that the Scouts and Guides can play an important role in raising awareness on the use of green energy, reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable development practises.
“You are the architects of the future. It is your responsibility to shape India’s future in a beautiful way. You should all prepare to face future challenges. The world is changing at a rapid pace, and you must be prepared for the future “She stated.
The President thanked the scouts and guides for their efforts and contributions during the pandemic.
Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister, and Governor Kalraj Mishra attended the event as well.
The Jamboree is a national gathering of Scouts and Guides held every four years. It allows Scouts and Guides to interact with youth from various states in India as well as from other countries.
The youth discuss their customs, food habits, handicrafts, and religious beliefs.
From January 4 to 10, approximately 35,000 scouts, guides, and adult leaders from the Scouts and Guides organisation from across the country and SAARC countries will attend the 18th National Jamboree.
Views Of Governor Mishra
Governor Mishra claimed that the group known for its dedication, service, and discipline is essentially an expression of Indian culture’s “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.”
He urged the scouts and guides organisation to prioritise the welfare of all and work with human service as its goal.
Being a scout-guide, according to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, is a source of pride. “Here, one learns to be disciplined, to do social service, and to respect the great culture of the country,” he explained.
According to Ashok Gehlot, the state has over 12 lakh scouts and guides.
Various formations and an aerial show by the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team captivated guests, participants, and the audience during the programme.
According to a press release, Education Minister B D Kalla, Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria,, Chairman of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Dharmendra Rathore,Chief National Commissioner K K Khandelwal, National President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Anil Kumar Jain, Minister of State for Education Zahida Khan,Chief National Commissioner K K Khandelwal, and State Chief Commissioner Niranjan Arya attended the event.
