The Kerala Story has achieved Rs200 Cr milestone, becoming the First Female dominant film to enter the club.
The film was released in theatres on May 5, directed by Sudipto Sen and Adah Sharma playing the lead role. Besides her, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani have also played critical roles. Since its release, the kerala story has been facing bans and controversies but is still standing strong and breaking records in 18 days. Though, many leading personalities and states in India have also backed the movie.

About the movie
The Kerala Story features the story of Hindu women from Kerala who were manipulated and brainwashed to convert to the Islamic religion and travel to Syria. Subsequently, these women are shifted to ISIS terrorist organization, where they are sexually abused, tortured, and forced to perform suicide bombings.
The film has made various allegations about the organization and centers executing these kinds of activities and quoted a number of 32,000 women of Kerala trapped in it. The film raises serious concerns about this alleged phenomenon, depicting it as a threat to the religious fabric of Kerala.
The Kerala Story, produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, only after its trailer launch was taken under inspection. It has been followed by various protests and discontent by the people asking for its ban.
Many leading personalities in the industry have also supported the film, speaking up against the ban and asking people to watch and become aware about the problems and difficult situations that women are going through in Kerala.

Actress Adah Sharma has achieved a significant milestone with her film ‘The Kerala Story,’ as it has outperformed previous records set by popular actresses like Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, and Vidya Balan and has entered the Rs 200 crore club. The film surpassed the box office success of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which held the title of the highest-grossing female-centric film until ‘The Kerala Story’ surpassed it within just 10 days of release.
In the new rankings, ‘Raazi,’ starring Alia Bhatt, secured the second position with a lifetime net collection of Rs 124 crore, followed by Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ in third place with Rs 92.10 crore in net earnings.
‘The Kerala Story’ has now concluded its theatrical run with a total earning of Rs 200 crore +, making it the first female-centric film to achieve a double century at the box office. It is important to note that while some charts may include films like ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ and ‘Stree’ among the highest-grossing female-centric films, these movies prominently feature male leads with significant roles in the narrative.
The film has amassed an impressive box office collection of more than Rs 200 crore surpassing the earnings of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ which stood at Rs 129.10 crore. ‘Raazi’ secured the third position on the list with Rs 124 crore, followed by ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’ with Rs 92.19 crore. Other notable films on the list include ‘Veere Di Wedding’ with Rs 83 crore, ‘The Dirty Picture’ with Rs 80 crore, ‘Neerja’ with Rs 75.65 crore, ‘Dear Zindagi’ with Rs 68 crore, ‘Mary Kom’ with Rs 64 crore, and ‘Queen’ with Rs 61 crore.
