Sonam Kapoor Attends Rishi Sunak’s Event
On 28th June, Actress Sonam Kapoor wowed her fans by posting dazzling pictures on Instagram from her visit to The United Kingdom.
Sonam Kapoor, recently returning after attending the much coveted Coronation Concert of King Charles III in May where she heralded several choir serenades including that of Steve Winwood, had to rebook her tickets to England.
The Neerja star was invited by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to attend a reception at 10 Downing Street, London. The function was organised to commemorate UK-India Week 2024.
Thrilled to be included in the guest list, Sonam Kapoor represented India and ‘its cultural influence’ at the India Global Forum’s flagship event on Wednesday and also gave a short speech on India and its cultural influence in the International sphere.
‘Stunner’ Sonam Kapoor Garners Likes
The 38-year-old superstar posted 4 pictures of her ravishingly posing in a Sari. She captioned the post “Representing in @rohitbalofficial for the reception at 10 Downing Street to celebrate UK India week.”
Kapoor was very ‘happy’ to wear a sari in the ‘gorgeous’ London summer!
Her post received lots of love and admiration from her fans and colleagues in the Industry and got almost 80000 likes. Anand Ahuja, her awe-struck husband, remarked ‘wiiiilldddd ????????’ to her snaps! While her friend and Veere Di Wedding co-star, Swara Bhasker called her a ‘stunner’.
Apart from the pictures, Kapoor also posted a clip of her and her businessman-husband Anand Ahuja in a car and flattered him by stating “Don’t I have the handsomest date!”
Also to love Sonam’s style and outfit were her contemporaries – Disha Patani, Malaika Arora, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and numerous others.
Fabulous is Florals, Sonam Sizzles in Sari
Wrapped in Rohil Bahl’s stunning light-green floral sari, Kapoor looked like a sight to behold. She paired the Indian sari with a white blazer that was also embellished with red florals and added a western touch to her ensemble. This Indo-Western fusion outfit of the Khoobsurat protagonist was an impeccable encapsulation of the event she was attending.
She kept her accessories and makeup minimal with just an elegant red earring and a green stone ring. Sonam, painting her lips in striking red lipstick and carrying a red bag, was styled by her sister Rhea Kapoor and appeared effortlessly fabulous!
UK-India Week 2024: A Global Cultural Event
As a part of the Global Forum’s flagship event UK-India Week 2024, which started on June 26 and will go on till 30th June, Rishi Sunak, the first-ever Indian origin UK Prime Minister hosted a reception at his official address – 10 Downing Street, London.
The reception was the fifth one in a series of events organised to honour the IGF’s flagship event. UK-India Week 2024 is a 7-day global-cultural event that aims to deepen and solidify the age-old affable alliance that the two countries share.
The official website of the IGF states that the purpose behind holding this week-long function was to ‘strengthen bilateral and economic ties’ linking India and UK and allow the nations to converse about crucial topics.
This celebration supplies a stage to discuss various significant events happening worldwide – from politics to business, from economics to innovations and from sustainability to trade.
Kapoor’s Return to the Stage
The ‘Giraffe’ as Sonam has been popularly and aptly monikered,has been absent from the big screen since 2019. She was last seen in ‘The Zoya Factor’ sharing space with Dulquer Salman. Announcing her pregnancy in March 2022 and giving birth to her son – Vayu, the artist has been busy on the personal front.
Bringing back her career to the front seat, Kapoor, on Tuesday 27 June, released a teaser of her next film titled ‘Blind’ which stars Purab Kohl, Lilette Dubey, Vinay Pathak, cand Shubham Saraf alongside her.
Directed by Shome Makhija, the teaser of ‘Blind’ reveals Sonam to be a visually-impaired cop trailing a serial killer. Seeming to be an intriguing tale, this film marks the comeback of Sonam Kapoor.
Inspired by the Korean film, also titled ‘Blind’, the film is a crime-thriller and is scheduled to have an OTT launch on Jio Cinema on July 7, 2024, just two days ahead of her birthday!
