After “Chandramukhi” in 2005, the film was remade as “Nagavalli” in Telugu with Anushka Shetty and Venkatesh, “Apthamitra” in Kannada with Vishnu Vardhan and Soundarya and “Bhool Bhulaiya” in Hindi with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan.
All these films retained the iconic song “Raa Raa” in their own versions, but the Tamil one is best known. Jyothika’s immersive acting as Chandramukhi was appreciated. The fans are hoping that whoever plays Ganga in the “Chandramukhi 2” does justice to the legacy of these films.
