Bollywood movie, ‘Fighter’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, will be the first Indian action drama franchise. Hrithik Roshan’s 47th birthday coincided with the announcement of Siddharth Anand’s film, ‘Fighter’. The Fighter will be directed by Siddharth Anand of movie, ‘War’ and produced by Viacom 18 Studios, Mamta Anand, Ramon Chibb, and Anku Pande. Fans of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone will have to wait for the film’s release. Those who have been following Hrithik and Deepika’s highly anticipated film Fighter on social media will be delighted to learn that it will be a thrilling first aerial action franchise. One wouldn’t expect anything less from Siddharth Anand’s directorial debut, Fighter. This is Hrithik and Deepika’s first on-screen collaboration. Hrithik returns to Siddharth Anand’s directorial debut after the blockbuster hits War and Bang Bang.
Fighter: A Dream Project?
‘Fighter’ is a dream project, and I am glad to have someone with Ajit’s (Ajit Andhare, Viacom COO) vision partnering with me,” said director Siddharth Anand. With this film, we hope to put Indian films on the map for action-loving global theatregoers who crave spectacle and the big screen experience.” Apart from the directors, Deepika Padukone also captioned the glimpse of Fighter as ‘Dreams do come true”. Fighter is a dream project for bollywood fans, reveals Ajit, “As a Top Gun fan, it’s been a dream to develop a true-blue aerial action film of our own”. He further adds,” We have been doing research for scripts on this subject for years and always envisaged Hrithik featuring in the cockpit while Deepika brings a new dimension to the story”.
Furthermore, Ajit expressed his excitement to partner with Siddharth in building this franchise, as he brings the correct blend of craft and pulse of this genre. “We have a tradition of taking bold steps to redefine Indian Cinema, and this will be a landmark film in that journey”, stressed Ajit. Producers of the film claim that the action film will be shot using cutting-edge technology and filming techniques.
Hrithik’s schedule and preparation for Fighter:
Hrithik Roshan, most recent picture, ‘War,’ was a box office blockbuster and broke multiple records. According to the media reports, Fighter will begin filming this year at the end of August or the beginning of September. Currently, Hrithik Roshan is filming ‘Vikram Vedha’, which is set to be completed in May. In this movie he is playing a role of an Air Force officer. Apart, from working on his character’s body language, in film ‘Fighter’ the actor will be shedding the pounds he gained for the role of ‘Vikram Vedha’.
Deepika’s current projects:
Actress, Deepika Padukone is currently in Spain filming an important project for Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathaan’, in which she will be seen with co-stars Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. She has also, done hectic promotions for Gehraiyaan, the Amazon Prime Video romantic drama film. Deepika will also, begin filming for ‘Project K’ in Hyderabad after the completion of ‘Pathaan’, co-staring Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. Furthermore, the actress is set to begin production on the remake of Hollywood movie, ‘The Intern’ in July. The bollywood movie, ‘The Intern’, is a remake based on the Hollywood drama of the same name, which was supposed to star late actor Rishi Kapoor, but due to the death of actor, Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan has taken his place. She is also in rumoured to work for several Hollywood projects, the specifics of which are unknown.
Delay in Release of film ‘Fighter’
According to reports, the film was scheduled to be released on Gandhi Jayanti in 2024. Movies like, ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘War’ were also released over the Gandhi Jayanti weekend. The film ‘Fighter’ was previously scheduled for release during Republic Weekend 2024. Although, ‘Pathaan’ has taken over the date. Siddharth Anand will start working on ‘Fighter’ after completing post-production on ‘Pathaan,’ and he intends to keep the film’s first cut ready before moving on to ‘Fighter’.
