AIADMK leader Panneerseevlam expelled from the party: Panneerselvam leader was expelled from the party by the AIADMK general council. He is no longer a primary member and the treasurer of the party. His two staunch supporters stand removed from the party.
Why was AIADMK Leader Panneerseevlam expelled from the party?
O Panneerseevlam stood as the chief minister for Ms. Jayalalita twice in 2001 and 2004. He played a pivotal role in the AIADMK party. He was accused of being close to DMK members. His actions were against the interests of his party. DMK is the main opposition party in Tamil Nadu.
There is a tussle of power in the party. Panneerselvam condemned Palaniswami and another party leader for acting against party rules. He said, “I expel the two from primary membership.”
The general council of the party has abandoned dual power sharing. It has appointed Palaniswami as the new general secretary. Madras High Court has refused to enter between the tussle of a political party.
