Ayushman Patra, a suspended bjp leader Seema Patra’s son, reportedly upset by the torture, confided in a friend, shared films with him, and requested assistance. Sunita was eventually rescued last week.
Bjp leader arrested for tutoring a tribal woman
A suspended BJP leader was detained this morning on charges that she starved and beat the domestic staff at her Jharkhand house, including breaking her teeth with an iron rod.
After her son told a friend, a government official, about the horrifying torture and requested assistance, Seema Patra was apprehended.
She told the journalists that she was framed while she was being carried away by the police. I’m innocent, “she declared.
According to reports, Seema Patra admitted her son to the hospital for exposing her. When asked the reason her son was hospitalised, she responded.
She has been taken to jail for 14 days
After a video of Seema Patra’s domestic assistant accusing her of torturing him went viral on Tuesday, the BJP suspended Patra. The BJP’s women’s wing’s national working committee member, Ms. Patra, is married to former IAS officer Maheshwar Patra.
Her assistant, Sunita, has been with her for ten years.
She claimed that she had been made to lick the floor. Sunita added, “She also used an iron rod to break my teeth.”
She apparently went days without food or water. She claimed that Ayushman, Ms. Patra’s son, had saved her. She added in the video, sobbing, “I am only living because of him.”
Ayushman, who was evidently horrified by the abuse, confided in a friend, shared videos, and requested his assistance before Sunita was saved last week. A government official and his friend, Vivek Anand Baskey, called the police.
According to Ms. Patra, she sent her son to the Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences after learning that he was attempting to assist Sunita.
Police transported her to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for treatment after removing her from the Patras’ residence, according to officials.
Sunita is depicted in the video lying on a hospital bed with injuries on her body and face. The 29-year-old woman had difficulty speaking as she claimed that she had been tortured and battered with iron pans and rods while being held captive.
She couldn’t sit up, had several missing teeth, and was incontinent.
Strong emotions have been sparked by Sunita’s videos, which are currently in widespread circulation. Ramesh Bais, the governor of Jharkhand, met with Neeraj Sinha, the director general of police, yesterday and voiced “severe concern” about the lack of action taken against the suspended BJP leader.
According to the police, there is no proof that Ms. Patra’s husband is guilty.
