The comment made by Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury about President of India Mrs. Droupadi Murmu, which he referred to as a “Rashtrapatni,” has been criticized.
On Thursday, female Members of Parliament staged a protest inside the Parliament complex.

After a member of the Congress party, Adhir Chowdhury referred to President of India Droupadi Murmu as “Rashtrapatni,” several female members of the BJP, including Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Nirmala Sitharaman, as well as other women BJP MPs, condemned the Congress party on Thursday for demeaning the women and the tribals of India.
Smriti Irani has stated that the Congress party needs to issue an apology in Parliament as well as on the streets of India.
She also stated that despite the fact that Sonia Gandhi being a woman is the leader of the Congress party, Congressmen still degrade women who hold constitutional posts.
As a result of the protests against Adhir Chowdhury’s comment, the session of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha was postponed until noon.
Rashtrapatni: Allegations by Congress Party Members
“The Congressman knew that to address the President of India this way not only demeans her constitutional post but also the rich tribal legacy that she represents.
Adhir Chowdhury knew that to demean the president in such a fashion is to demean the potential of women in our country,”
Smriti Irani said. “You stand guilty of insulting the supreme commander of armed forces, you stand guilty of humiliating a tribal leader…”
The Congress party cannot stand the honor given to a tribal, it is not able to digest a poor tribal woman becoming the President of India,” continued Irani in the Lok Sabha even as BJP MPs protested on the floor of the House.

Smriti Irani Reply
According to Smriti Irani, Droupadi Murmu has been the target of malicious attacks by Congress ever since Mrs. Murmu was proposed for the position of president.
These attacks do not appear to be abating despite the fact that she was recently elected to the position of president.
“Adhir Chowdhury addressed her as Rashtrapatni despite being aware of the fact that doing so degrades the position of Rashtrapati, which is the highest constitutional post.
It is common knowledge throughout the nation that the Congress harbors anti-tribal, anti-Dalit, and anti-women sentiments “Smriti Irani said.
Adhir Chowdhury responded as follows: “Yes, we will go to the Rashtrapati.
“In another low, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury condescendingly refers to President Droupadi Murmu as ‘Rashtrapati’.
The characterization is not just sexist but reeks of disdain for a Tribal woman, who has risen from a modest background to the highest office of the land,” BJP’s Amit Malviya said.
“Sonia Gandhi’s Congress has been insulting President Droupadi Murmu, repeatedly. Since Droupadi Murmu was elected.
Congress has never treated Dalits, Tribals, and women with dignity. Never,” he tweeted.
Adhir Chowdhury, on the other hand, asserted that it was a mistake and that he had not intentionally referred to Droupadi Murmu as “Rashtrapati.”
