Alia Bhatt will be changing her name to Alia Bhatt-Kapoor soon. She got married to actor Ranbir Kapoor in April.
Alia said that she is going to change her name on her documents, including her passport but her screen name will always be Alia Bhatt. “I am happy to do it,” she said.
Alia also shared that she has been planning to change her name for a while but she was not getting the chance to do it because since her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor, she has done many international travels. She spent almost a month in the UK for her film Heart of , which is her Hollywood debut.
Ranbir changed his marital status on his passport soon after the wedding. When being asked about why she wants to change her name, Alia said, “We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are traveling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out.” “I will and always will be Alia Bhatt. And now I am also a Kapoor,” Darlings actor added.
Alia and Ranbir announced their pregnancy on Instagram in June. Alia wrote while sharing a photo during her ultrasound,“Our baby ….. coming soon ♾❤️✨” Alia and Ranbir got married this year at their residence in Mumbai in an intimate ceremony. They also hosted a wedding reception at their home soon after the wedding ceremony.
On the work front, Alia co-produced her first film Darlings under her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions recently. The film is currently streaming on Netflix and has received a lot of praise from the audience. Her upcoming films include Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor directed by Ayan Mukerji which will release on September 2. In this film, Ranbir will be seen as Shiva and Alia will be playing the role of his love interest, Isha. Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani which also stars Ranveer Singh, and her debut Hollywood film Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot.
