Soon-to-be parents Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are very busy promoting their upcoming movie, Brahmastra. The pair were seen at IIT Bombay recently where Alia flaunted her singing skills. Alia sang the Brahmastra song Kesariya and the audience applauded her.
Ranbir, who was seated next to Alia was glancing at his wife affectionately and also applauded for her. Alia had earlier posted pictures on her Instagram handle and joked about how she finally will be getting into IIT.
She posted a series of photos and wrote in the caption, “IIT Bombay .. here we come!!! Thanks to promotions at least I can proudly say I got into IIT(for one hour) 9th September — BRAHMĀSTRA.”
Kesariya is a song composed by famous Music Director Pritam, written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and sung by none other than Arijit Singh. The song was trolled due to the words ‘Love Storiyaan’ in its lyrics.
Alia responded to this criticism on the song recently when she was in Delhi to launch the song La Ilaaj from her movie Darlings.
Speaking to the media, the Darlings actress said, “Gaana number one pe hai, toh main kyun complain karun! (The song is number one on the charts, then why should I complain).”Kesariya has been topping the music charts ever since it was launched which proves that she is right on her part.
Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor, while he was promoting his last release Shamshera, which turned out to be a box office failure, had also reacted to the memes made on the song Kesariya and not only that but Ayan Mukerji, director of Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, had defended the lyrics as well.
Ranbir in an interview said, “See, we as filmmakers and artists create something and it is up to the audience to receive it how they do…We’re very excited about the song and it’s got a lot of love. Today, memes and trolling are all part of life…. And it’s fine as long as people enjoy the song, Pritam’s music, and Arijit Singh’s singing. I want them to enjoy my chemistry with Alia and that’s what the endeavor is.”
Brahmastra is all set to release in cinemas on September 9. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna in lead roles.
