Ana De Armas recently told Variety that she is concerned that her nude scenes from her upcoming Netflix film “Blonde” will circulate online.
Ana De Armas’s Short Bio
Ana de Armas is a Spanish-Cuban actress who is 34 years old. Her first film, Una Rosa de Francia, in which she played the lead role, launched her acting career in Cuba. She has consistently delivered outstanding performances throughout her career. In previous interviews, the ‘No Time to Die’ actress stated, “It’s difficult to explain my situation to my parents. Hollywood and Cuba are incomparable. I had no idea I could have such vivid dreams.”
According to Variety, Ana was director Andrew Dominik’s first choice for his film “Blonde.” Andrew wrote and directed the 2022 American historical psychological drama film ‘Blonde.’ It is a fictionalized take on the life and career of American actress Marilyn Monroe, played by Ana de Armas, and is based on Joyce Carol Oates’ 2000 novel of the same name.
The Monroe biopic is the first Netflix original to receive an NC-17 rating. It’s for the nudity, but it’s also for an explicit scene in which Monroe meets President John F. Kennedy in a hotel room and he compels her to engage in oral sex with him while he’s on the phone.
About the naked sequences she filmed for the upcoming film Blonde, Ana De Armas told Variety that she was aware that this would happen.
“Just thinking about it makes me sad,” she said. Regarding her naked shots from the movie that might surface online, de Armas added, “I can’t control it; you really can’t control what people do and how they take things out of context.” I don’t think it made me have second thoughts; I just had a weird feeling thinking about what might happen to those clips in the future.
After receiving an NC-17 rating, Variety asked Ana about the movie’s sexual content. Ana replied, “We’re telling her tale from her point of view.” It was difficult for everyone when we had to shoot scenes like the one with John F. Kennedy. I’m making others feel the same way Monroe felt. I was aware, though, that I had to go there to learn the truth.
The film’s world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, De Armas’ performance in “Blonde” received a 14-minute standing ovation, the longest at the 2022 event. While the film has divided critics, nearly every journalist agrees that de Armas’ portrayal of the Hollywood legend is a must watch.
“Blonde” will be available on Netflix worldwide on September 28.
