According to a report in PTI, Aryan Khan filed an application in the special court, to get back his passport which he had to surrender as part of his bail conditions.
In the ‘drugs’ case involving the cruise ship Cordelia, Aryan Khan, son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has requested the restoration of his passport and termination of his release bond. Aryan was among the six defendants the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) dismissed from the case last month.
In his court filing, Aryan asserts that the Bombay High Court granted him bail after he was charged as an accused in the case one year ago. Under the terms of his bail, he was required to surrender his passport to the trial court, which he did.
According to his plea, the NCB concluded after an inquiry that there was no evidence against him and so did not include him on the chargesheet. He has requested return of his passport.
In the cruise narcotics case, it has been many months since Aryan Khan, the son of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, was granted bail and given a clean bill of health.
In October 2021, when a cruise ship was searched in Mumbai, the Narcotics Control Bureau did not include Aryan Khan on the chargesheet issued in the case. Now that the young celebrity has been given a clear bill of health, Aryan Khan desires the restoration of his passport.
According to Press Trust of India, Aryan Khan filed a petition with the special court to get his passport. The application was submitted by his attorneys Amit Desai and Rahul Agarwal of Desai Desai Carrimjee and Mulla on Thursday, 30 June. Aryan Khan stated in his application that he is not included in the NCB charge sheet, hence his passport must be restored.
The court has accepted jurisdiction and ordered the NCB to prepare a response. The court has also scheduled the hearing for July 13.
As part of his bail terms, Aryan Khan was required to forfeit his passport and was prohibited from leaving the country or leaving Mumbai. During the first several months, he was required to be present in the NCB office for his weekly attendance. Aryan Khan spent more than three weeks at the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai, where his father Shah Rukh Khan also visited him.
In related news, it was recently announced that Shah Rukh Khan’s son is working on numerous projects, including a web series and a feature film for Red Chillies Entertainment. Aryan has been working on these ideas for a considerable amount of time and has already begun the series.
