The Russian invasion of Ukraine appears to have heightened awareness of Russia’s other disagreements with the West’s allies.      On April 22, Japan’s Diplomatic Bluebook for 2022 denounced Russia’s “illegal occupation” of the Kuril Islands (which Japan refers to as the Northern Territories and Russia as the South Kurils). This is the first time in over two decades that Japan has used this word to refer to the Kuril Islands issue. Netflix is producing a long-running series on freedom, says the I&B secretary.   The Union government and Netflix launched a partnership on Tuesday with the release of a two-minute videos on seven women changemakers titled ‘Azadi ki Amrit Kahaniyan’, while also announcing the production of additional videos and a serial on the Freedom struggle to commemorate the country’s 75th anniversary.  At the inauguration event, Information and Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur, said that Netflix will create 25 short videos on a variety of subjects to coincide with the government’s ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festival.
