A woman, who was part of Cardi B’s recent concert, reported a battery to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. According to them, no charges, citations or arrests were issued till now.
The US police department has started a battery investigation after the Cardi B’s incident. The rapper flung a mic at a fan when she was thrown drink by the fan.
What exactly happened at the Cardi B concert
In a most recent viral video, it shows Cardi B wearing an orange flowy gown performing ‘Bodak Yellow’ on stage. In the middle of her performance, a fan from the crowd throws her drink at the rapper. The ‘WAP’ singer was obviously shocked but she didn’t stay quiet. As it was recorded in the video, the singer throws her mic aiming at the attacker.
Later, her security jumped right into the incident and got hold of the woman from the crowd. However a different video shows that she didn’t hit the woman who threw the drink at her. It shows that her mic landed on a different woman.
After the video went viral, her fans from all over the world started commenting on the post. Most of them are supporting the singer for taking revenge at that very moment. Though some people criticized her for throwing her mic at the crowd, she received appreciation from many.
One user commented that the attacks on female singers on stage are increasing and it is high time for the artists to fight back, while another user mentioned that due to lockdown and the increase of online activities people have forgotten stage etiquettes. Another user tweeted that she did a great job and throwing stuff at performers needed to stop immediately.
The complaint of battery to the Police
According to a report, a woman on Monday contacted the Las Vegas Police Department to report a battery. The complainant mentioned that she was at a concert on July 29, 2024 in the 3500 block of Las Vegas Boulevard when an item was thrown at her from the stage. She didn’t mention any name of the performer but the description of the location and time match with Cardi B’s concert.
After the complaint was lodged the US police Department started the investigation based on the information gathered.
Artists getting stuffs thrown at them
Throwing items from the crowd at the performer has become quite common during concerts. Recently in New York a fan from the crowd threw a phone at the singer Bebe Rexha which led to stitches in her eyebrows. A man named Nicolas Malvagna was also caught due to this incident. The singer Pink was also attacked by human ashes of a fan’s mother on stage. This incident left her speechless.
During the opening night of Its All a Blur tour Drake was also attacked when a phone was thrown at him from the audience. Recently What Makes You Beautiful singer Harry Styles had to stop a show in the middle of his performance when a fan threw chicken nuggets on him.
Kelsea Ballerini’s attack in the eye by a fan’s bracelet in Boise, Idaho is also worth-mentioning.
Most recently Adelle, the ‘Someone Like You’ singer opened up about safety procedures and stage etiquettes at The Colosseum in Las Vegas. She said that people are forgetting stage etiquettes day by day and these attacks on stage are rapidly increasing. She also took this opportunity to warn her audience to throw stuff at her during shows.
