In November 2021, the Biden administration passed a 1 trillion dollar bill for refurbishing American infrastructure, and recently 3 days ago Biden administration passed another bill that reduces the cost of prescription drugs for the common population. And even though these bills will help the common population, Biden is continually criticized by many Americans.
Right from the start, President assumed power at one of the most tumultuous times in the United States. Soon after Biden won and became the president of the United States after defeating Donald Trump in the elections – thousands of protestors with ties to right-wing politics, stormed the capitol building demanding Trump to be reinstated as the president.
Biden in Afganistan
Soon after the insurrection, president ordered the troops in Afghanistan to make a speedy exit that soon turned into a disaster as the country fell into the hands of the Taliban after 30 years of military occupation. Biden inevitably became the center of controversy and was trolled by politicians and Television commentators alike to have “messed it up”.
Even though the public scrutiny is not dying down anytime soon, in November 2021, the Biden administration passed a legislative bill releasing 1 trillion dollars for the refurbing and construction of infrastructure necessary for development in the US. One year later, Biden Administration is still touting its infrastructure bill as the list of infrastructure requirements gets listed. Statistics provided by Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, claim that they have spent $113 billion dollars for more than 5000 projects to date.
But as technologies develop, they are also creating a substantial want for upgraded infrastructure, for example, recharging stations for electric cars where they spent $5 billion dollars and invested $42.45 billion dollars to spread internet broadband to more isolated areas of the United States.
Moreover, recently the Biden Administration passed climate, health care, and tax bill into law. In the Climate bill, the Biden administration has issued an investment of $300 billion dollars in order to develop sustainable and renewable energy that will curb the emission rates since the US has one of the highest carbon footprints.
In Health care, this bill helps to cap the price of certain essential medicines as well as prescription drugs at the cost of $2000, effective from 2025, which will make it easier for Americans to avail Health care better.
On taxation, the Biden administration has kept its word “Tax the rich” and created a law that will make it mandatory for companies to pay 15% of their income as tax if they make it! billion dollars or more as income, that will in turn make $300 billion as revenue for the State.
After the harrowing defeat in Afghanistan and losing service members in Afghanistan in a bomb attack during the evacuation as well as words of growing inflation, Biden Administration has been at the forefront of public scrutiny. But after the passing of these bills, Preseident Joe and democrats are hoping to redeem themselves in the eyes of the American public.
