Case registered by Mahila Morcha
A case was lodged by BJP’s Mahila Morcha Vice President( Maharashtra) Rida Rashid in Mumbra against the NCP leader Jitendra Awhad for assaulting and shoving her.
Reportedly, the incident passed after a new bridge was inaugurated in Mumbra by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde.
While approaching the vehicle of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, she crossed paths with the NCP leader. A videotape was shared by BJP’s Mahila Morcha where Awhad is seen pushing her away while saying something.
In a tweet, BJP’s Mahila Morcha said, “ NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad insulted me openly, holding me by the hand pushed me saying what are you doing here, I’m a woman, this way the woman is being publicly insulted, police administration should take action on it@PMOIndia@CMOMaharashtra@DevendraForCM@ChitraKWagh@BJPMM4Maha ”
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Mumbra Police Station grounded on the complaint of Rashid. Awhad was booked under the Indian Penal Code section 354 which is Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty.
NCP MLA Awhad responding to the development said in a tweet, “ Police registered 2 false cases against me in 72 hours and, that too under Section 354. I’ll fight against this police brutality I’ve decided to resign from my MLA post. I can not see the murder of democracy with my eyes. ”
The Maharashtra chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Monday demanded to sack the NCP minister, this demand came after another FIR was filed against him under the IPC section 354.
Beforehand this morning( 14th November), the NCP leader’s supporters blocked roads, burned tires, and protested in huge figures in Mumbra, Thane.

Jitendra Awhad was arrested on November 11 for stopping a show of the movie Har Har Mahadev’
NCP leader Awhad was arrested by Vartak Nagar Police in Thane on Friday for forcefully stopping the movie. The police had registered a case against him and his supporters for dismembering the movie screening the day ahead.
He was latterly released on bail.
