‘Bridgerton’ cast reacts to the most iconic romantic scenes from Bollywood movies featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and many others on Netflix India’s YouTube channel.
Bridgerton, a regency romance drama produced by Shonda Rhimes, was recently returned back for a second season on Netflix. Charithra Chandran and Nicola Coughlan, stars of the Netflix series, recently came up for a fun game on Netflix India’s YouTube channel in which they reacted to a few Bollywood romantic scenes.
“There’s one thing that matches the romance and yearning in Bridgerton and that’s Bollywood.” Charithra, says to Nicola. As the two viewed movie scenes together, she continued to inform Nicola about those scenes and clips.
They started watching a scene from the film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, directed by Ayan Mukerji. “Awwww,” Nicola exclaimed as Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor kissed in the scene that was playing on their screen.
Charithra commented that she adores that it’s the lady making the romantic gesture on the bike, after watching Katrina Kaif’s bike scene from ‘Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara’. She added that she looks glam on a bike, if that was her recording it, she would be like, with that both of them showed the scared expression they would have had if they were riding a bike.
After that, they watched a rain scene from ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ where Kajol gets drenched and is seen drying her hair with Shah Rukh Khan looking at her. Both Nicola and Charithra expressed that they couldn’t have shot such a scene. As Charithra informed Nicola that the male actor is Shah Rukh Khan, she reacted, “I have heard that name!” Charithra replied saying, he is very famous.
The two of them then watched the entry scene of Sushmita Sen’s ‘Main Hoon Naa, which Charithra described as an “iconic scene.” She explained to Nicola how Sushmita was Miss Universe and Shah Rukh’s most famous pose is extending both hands. “Ohhh,” Nicola says as Sushmita’s saree glides across Shah Rukh’s face. “Oh, I mean, come on,” she said once more.
“We all deserve a Shah Rukh Khan in our lives,” Charithra stated as they finished watching a part of Main Hoon Na with Sushmita’s entry. “I’ll never be over these!” Nicola agreed and added.
On the Netflix show, Charithra Chandran plays the season’s diamond Edwina Sharma, while Nicola Coughlan portrays Penelope Featherington of Lady Whistledown. Season two of Bridgerton premiered on Friday, introducing two new characters, sisters Kate and Edwina Sharma, who had recently newly arrived in London from Bombay.
Viewers were not surprised to see two Indian women as society debutantes in Regency-era England, given that the show is set in an alternate historical world where society is ethnically integrated.
The second season of Bridgerton is based on Julia Quinn’s writings. The show has two seasons so far, while the first which was released in 2020 was a sensational hit, the second has received mixed reviews from fans and critics.
