BTS leader RM’s mourn’s dog Moni’s death on Weverse live
BTS leader and K-pop superstar RM has announced the unfortunate news of his beloved dog Moni.
He shared the heartbreaking news in a Weverse live, expressing the profound grief his whole family has been experiencing since the pet’s death 2-3 months ago. To commemorate Rapmon ‘Moni,’ RM has hung a portrait of his four-legged friend in his room.
“Monie crossed the rainbow bridge 2 or 3 months ago…I hope our Moni will be happy as a Puppy star too,” RM professed, as translated by Twitter user @Lovly_mochitwin. RM further added that the dog was ‘family.’
BTS fans–’ARMY’ expressed their condolences and sorrow over the passing of the now internet-famous dog.
Who was ‘Moni?’
Moni was a white American Eskimo dog that belonged to RM’s family. Despite not seeing him frequently due to his tours and career, RM spent time with Moni when he was back in his hometown and often posted Instagram pictures with and of him.
Apparently, the dog was named after RM’s initial stage name, ‘Rap Monster.’
RM’s rise to success:
RM, whose birth name is Kim Nam-joon, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the leader of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS. Born on September 12, 1994, in Ilsan, South Korea, RM became a central figure in the formation and success of BTS.
RM’s journey with music began at a young age, and he developed a passion for hip-hop and rap. He was discovered by Big Hit Entertainment (now known as HYBE Corporation) during his teenage years due to his impressive rapping skills and talents in songwriting. He joined the company as a trainee and, alongside other members, went on to form BTS in 2013.
As the leader of BTS, RM is not only responsible for his role as a rapper but also plays a crucial part in the group’s creative process. He is known for his thoughtful and introspective lyrics, addressing various themes such as self-identity, mental health, and societal issues in their music. RM has contributed to writing and producing numerous BTS songs, which has significantly shaped the group’s unique musical style and meaningful message.
RM’s leadership skills, eloquent speaking abilities, and dedication to promoting positive change have also made him an influential figure outside of the music industry. He has given speeches at the United Nations and collaborated with UNICEF on their “Love Myself” campaign, which aims to end violence against children and teenagers.
RM as a solo artist, post BTS Hiatus
In 2022, RM embarked on his solo artist journey, marking his official debut with the release of the studio album ‘Indigo,’ featuring Erykah Badu and Anderson Paak. The album’s success was truly remarkable, as it soared to the third spot on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart. This achievement was historic, establishing RM’s album as the highest-charting work by a solo Korean artist on the Billboard 200.
Recent reports from OTTPlay highlight RM’s latest role as the public relations ambassador for the Ministry of National Defence’s excavation team. The team’s goal is to find and identify remains of war veterans from the Korean War.
As BTS members adhere to mandatory military service requirements, the group’s collective performances have temporarily paused. This interval has offered an opportunity for individual members to showcase their solo endeavors.
Presently, BTS’s V has unveiled his inaugural solo album titled ‘Layover,’ scheduled for release on September 8, 2024. A teaser of this upcoming album has already been presented with the release of its initial track, “Rainy Days.” Additionally, Jung Kook’s debut solo single, ‘Seven,’ has made an impressive impact by earning a spot on the coveted Hot 100 chart.
