Exercise is an essential activity to keep us fit and away from major health issues. Despite having severe health risks, professionals help people live a better life. But at times, excess of exercise, wrong technique or other factors can induce major health risks, one of which happens to be cardiac issues.Â
To live a healthy life, we must have a healthy lifestyle. Many people cannot afford to have a lavish, flexible, and comfortable lifestyle according to their will, whereas many others can.
They have the required resources to exploit with respect to their needs. In the time of the “hustle till you drop” culture, people are more social, running after their financial growth and focused on making a noticeable change in society.
In the penchant of living in the ever growing environment where everything is available, there is an exploitation of the resources as well. Exercise is one of those resources that is used as a social symbol more than a personal benefactor. People intend to present a life that is busy and productive.
But they forget the essential fact that rest is also important. They overdo their daily routines and exhaust themselves, which has a repercussion they cannot handle.
Kinds of workouts:
It is the needs of the body of an individual that define the kind of workouts they will be adhering to. Under the good guidance of a professional fitness trainer, it can range from general cardio, moderate weight lifting, to professional heavy lifting.
In these times of the availability of numerous gyms across town, people have turned to mixed workouts. They intend to tire themselves physically to call it a good workout. But it doesn’t mean it actually is.
A workout lasting no more than 50 minutes (including warm-ups, stretching, and weight lifting) is considered ideal. Although professionals report that this changes according to the individual’s needs, motives, body type, age, and health issues.
Since people attending gyms are more concerned with their outer physique, they forget to focus on what’s inside their bodies, which leads to repercussions.
Causes of workout repercussions:
There have been numerous reports of workouts helping people achieve the physique and health they desired, but there have also been reports of people succumbing to the extremes of it. The causes of such disastrous incidents include:
- Lack of rest
- Wrong workouts
- Improper diet
- Unnecessarily increased the duration of workouts.
- Lack of awareness of underlying health issues (genetic, hereditary or recently developed)
Diet is also important in improving mobility. With a proper, healthy, and nutritious diet, one can easily achieve their fitness goals.
Although people tend to remove many food items they feel harm their growth, they should do it under professional supervision.
Many times, foods comprising macro nutrients like carbohydrates and fats are removed by people in order to achieve their desired physique, which in turn causes internal damage.
A healthy, well-balanced diet helps the workouts you do, while a lack of it can make things worse.
Kind of repercussions:
Recently, in the backdrop of health and fitness being induced in our ever changing lifestyles, we have found multiple accidents caused by neglect of the essentialities of workouts.
One of them is lack of rest. People who have an on-site work schedule tend to have less rest in comparison to people who work from home.
But that does not mean both of them are not at high risk of major cardiac arrest or minor angina attacks. It only emphasises the fact that relaxation after workouts is important.
Regaining the vigour to exercise again the following day is achievable through proper rest. Doctors have reported that out of 100 cardiac arrest patients, 30 die because of lack of immediate medical attention.
Aggressive workout sessions and stress have been found to be the leading causes of erosion and clotting in the blood vessel linings.
When this happens in the main blood vessels of the heart, it can cause thrombosis, which makes the heart beat faster and can lead to cardiac arrest.
Prevention is better than cure:
Improvement in lifestyle in the age of speed living is essential. But with proper care, attention and precautions, it can be achieved. Exercise furbishes the need for mobility in one’s life.
However, if performed recklessly, it can easily lead to negative results. Preventing health risks by avoiding improper exercise techniques and innutritious diets can save many lives.
Moreover, with multitudes of people joining gyms and other mobility programs, regular visits to the doctor are advisable, which can lessen the risks of persistent health issues that are invisible till time has passed.
As always, moderation and timely intervention lead to prevention, and prevention is forever better than cure.
