China denied that Russia’s actions in Ukraine were a “invasion” and asked all parties to maintain patience, while also advising its citizens to stay at home or, if they must travel, to raise a Chinese flag.
After President Vladimir Putin ordered what he dubbed an unique military operation in the east, Russian forces fired missiles at numerous locations in Ukraine and landed troops on the country’s coast, officials and media reported.
“China is keeping a careful eye on what’s going on right now.” “We urge all parties to maintain moderation so that the situation does not spiral out of control,” China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.
