Who is Vir Das?
For the unversed, Vir Das is an Indian comedian, actor, and musician. He started his career in stand-up comedy and acted in supporting roles in movies like Delhi Belly and Badmaash Company. He evolved in Stand-Up Comedy and earned himself a nomination for Best Comedy at the Emmy Awards in 2021. On 12th November 2021, he performed a monologue at the John F. ABVP threatens the cancellation of Vir Das’s comedy show
The announcement of him being Covid-19 positive comes after ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) threatened to create a scene if his show in Vadodara was not canceled. This backlash was caused after he was accused of injuring religious sentiments with his comments on Hindu Temples. Despite the threat and backlash, many fans had geared up and were excited to attend his acclaimed Comedy Show.
They expressed disappointment at the unfortunate situation and wished him good health soon. Das had also tested Covid-19 positive earlier this year in January with mild symptoms. Fans hope that he recovers soon and can perform in Kolkata where he is scheduled on 25th June, followed by Guwahati.
