On Friday in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted the final rites for his mother, Heeraben Modi. She was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and died early on Friday after her condition utterly declined.
President of the United States Joe Biden sent a tweet to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing his sincere condolences on the loss of his mother and assuring him that his thoughts are with his family at all times.

Narendra Modi, the prime minister, announced his loss to the public on Twitter.
He tweets, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God…In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and life committed to values.”
He continues by describing how he last saw his mother in June and how, when he saw her on his 100th birthday, she came with just one message, and that is what has always lingered with him. Her personal motto was to work intelligently and live morally.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, also expressed his sincere condolences to Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. He said that losing one’s mother is the worst grief one can ever endure and went on to express his condolences to him for the loss of his mother.
The President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, also expressed his sorrow on Twitter for the loss of the prime minister and assured him that he was in his prayers and thoughts at all times.
The Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, continued by expressing his prayers, condolences, and blessing for his mother’s soul to find peace.
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of Bengal and leader of the Trinamool Congress, offers her condolences for the passing of PM Modi’s mother. Modi himself conducted her final rituals at the cremation in Sector 30 in Gandhinagar. All of his family members followed the ceremonies and exited the crematorium after performing her last rites.
