Enhancing and imitating active hormones
A recent study conducted in the Ayurveda sector of the health industry emphasises the imitation of oestrogen by consumption of soya.
Soya consists of isoflavones, a chemical compound resembling the female hormone estrogen in structure, though it might be weaker but can easily imitate them.
The hormone concerned is essential for many actions within a female body and can quickly accelerate the process of production of the hormone.
Soya has always been a controversial food item and a recent study clearly points out one of the major health threats it can cause.
That is not all
It is not only the estrogen that might be the cause of concern for people consuming soya in any form, as there are reports of it promoting the production of cancer cells.
As we are well aware of breast cancer and endometrial cancer, we can look forward to a detailed study in the near future of soya causing a severe health threat like cancer.
But the preliminary report on research of the same suggests the soy isoflavones can imitate and trigger oestrogen and progesterone production, causing a major rift towards cancer cell enhancements.
Moreover, another health scare that follows soya consumption is a disturbed thyroid gland. The combination of hormones released by the gland, Triiodothyronine or T3, and Tetraidothyronine or T4, together helps in proper functioning.
The ability to imitate and enhance, by soy isoflavones creates a rift between the body’s own capability to function normally.
Consume with caution
Accepting everything available that promises good health cannot be allowed as a part of our dietary plans. We need to understand if it might backfire on our positive and good efforts.
Keeping a healthy lifestyle is a difficult task in the era of busy work schedules and priorities. All the research conducted easily provides the area for caution we need to practice.
Consumption at a very high level can lead to an increased problem, but a controlled level proves to be safer. Yet, we should not let our guard down and look for better and healthier alternatives.
