On the first day of the debate on the no-trust motion put out by the Congress, the opposing and treasury benches were at conflict.Â
The former claimed they were compelled to do so in order to break Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “maun vrat” (vow of silence) on Manipur, while the latter fired back that it was a no-trust vote against a government that had worked for the well-being of the people. Tuesday’s no-trust vote sparked a heated debate in the Lok Sabha.

Rahul Gandhi Gives the BJP a Flying Kiss in Parliament.
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, gave his first address in Parliament after being re-elected as an MP on Wednesday. He gave BJP lawmakers a flying kiss. Smriti Irani Criticises Rahul Gandhi for ‘Indecency Displayed Before Leaving’ “I object to something. The person who had the opportunity to speak before me was impolite before departing. Only a misogynistic man would be able to give a flying kiss to a parliament that had female members. Such disrespectful behaviour has never before occurred in the nation’s Parliament,” according to Smriti Irani.
Shobha Karandlaje, the Union Agriculture Minister, also criticised the Congress MP for the flying kiss and reported Rahul Gandhi for his “inappropriate” behaviour to the Lok Sabha speaker. The complaint letter was signed by several female MPs.
Priyanka Chaturvedi, a member of parliament for the Shiv Sena (UBT), refuted the accusations, stating, “I was in the visitors’ gallery and he (Rahul Gandhi) did it as a gesture of affection.”

Point to be Noted
The Manipur violence issue has often interrupted the session, which began on July 20. The opposition asserts that there is nothing more urgent that can require the Prime Minister’s attention given the thousands of individuals who have been displaced, thousands of people who suffered injuries, and more than 170 people who have lost their lives, since the ethnic violence started in May.
