On Tuesday, the esteemed former Justice Minister of Saudi Arabia, an eminent authority on moderate Islam, praised India as a remarkable model for coexistence capable of fostering global peace.
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa lauded India’s unity and the Muslims living there for their feeling of national pride on Tuesday.
During a gathering at the India-Islamic Cultural Centre in New Delhi, he said, “They are proud of their Constitution, and they are proud that they are Indian citizens.”
We just now talked about the numerous parts of Indian civilization, and during the past three days, we’ve interacted with them, he continued.
Dr. Al-Issa serves as the Muslim World League’s Secretary General at the moment. MWL is a Saudi Arabian organisation that represents Muslims worldwide.
The Saudi leader commenced a five-day trip to India on July 10, marking the beginning of their visit.
Al-Issa expressed his admiration for “Indian wisdom” by saying, “We reach out with the varied components and variety for the common objectives that we share.
We’ve heard a lot about Indian knowledge and are aware of its significant contributions to humanity.
We are aware of the value of coexisting here, and we endeavour to advance world peace and stability.
We are aware that the diverse Indian component serves as a fantastic example of coexistence both on paper and in practise.
Dr. Al-Issa was praised for his remarks, and after him at the event, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval underlined the importance of living in peace and harmony in order to defend humanity.
The National Security Advisor, Mr. Ajit Doval, praised Dr. Al-Issa’s commendation, acknowledging India’s excellence in deep understanding of Islam, interfaith harmony, and efforts towards reform, preventing radical ideologies from influencing the youth.
Dr. Al-Issa Advances Global Religious Understanding
The Saudi representative who was in attendance claimed that his group is aiming to increase religious awareness all around the world.
While they were in India, the delegates emphasised the significant efforts being made to advance tolerance and understanding among various religious communities.
There is a pessimistic view that contends that a clash of civilizations is inevitable and that this clash will be influenced by two reasons.
Religions and civilizations both exist. Because of this, the United Nations has become aware of these views and has created the Alliance of Civilizations, a body within the UN, according to al-Issa.
In addition, he said that the Muslim World League has begun an initiative called “Building Bridges between the East and the West” from the United Nations podium in collaboration with the organisation’s leadership and with the support of the UN.
We can collaborate and coexist peacefully, he said.
India’s Inclusive Society Embraces All
India has effectively ensured that all its citizens have equal opportunities and access, irrespective of their religious, ethnic, or cultural backgrounds.
India has succeeded in making space for all of its citizens, irrespective of their racial, religious, or cultural identities, according to Doval.
Given that India has the second-largest Muslim population in the world, he stated, “Islam plays a significant role in national pride.”
The combined populations of more than 33 Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member countries and the Muslim population of India are roughly equal.
India became a haven for persecuted people of all faiths from all over the world only because it was open to accommodating different world views and ideas, exchanges, and assimilations of many cultures, religions, and practises.
Al-Issa landed in India on Monday. He is scheduled to meet with S Jaishankar, minister of external affairs, and Smriti Irani, minister of minorities.
