Ayushman Bharat Mission: The Health ID of every Indian will also work as their health report bank, which will have personal health records that will be linked and viewed with the help of a mobile application and website.
Every Indian will now have a unique digital health ID; Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he is launching the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission today.
The government is confident about the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The government thinks it will play a crucial role in the digital health ecosystem, like the Unified Payments Interface in revolutionizing payments – has underlined that “citizens will now only be a click away from accessing healthcare facilities”.
Currently, the project will be on the pilot phase in six Union Territories. The nationwide rollout of the project will come up with the National Health Authority (NHA), which is celebrating its third anniversary of the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), the statement said.
The mission will enable access and exchange of longitudinal health records of citizens with their consent, a release from the PMO said.
This new mission “will have a big role in eliminating problems in medical treatment of poor and middle class,” PM Modi said this morning in a televised address. “Today begins a Mission that has the power to bring a revolutionary change in India’s health facilities.
Three years ago, on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary, Ayushman Bharat Yojana was implemented. I am happy that Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is being started nationwide from today on its third anniversary,” the Prime Minister said.Â
The NDHM is a complete digital health record ecosystem. The digital platform has four key features — health ID, personal health records, Digi Doctor, and health facility registry.
The further stage also includes e-pharmacy and telemedicine services, and regulatory guidelines.
The NDHM comes under the National Health Authority (NHA), authorized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The National Health Authority (NHA) is also the authorized agency for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat.
The platform will be available in the form of a website and an interactive mobile application.
The Digi Doctor option will allow doctors from across the country to enroll with their details, including their contact numbers (not compulsory), which will be available.
These doctors will have digital signatures that they can use to write prescriptions with.
Health ID
The national health ID is a collection of all health-related information of every Indian.
Healthcare providers such as hospitals, laboratories, insurance companies, online pharmacies, and telemedicine firms will voluntarily participate in the health ID system.
Every patient who wants to have their health records available digitally must create a unique Health ID using their basic details and mobile or Aadhaar number.
Each Health ID has a health data consent manager, which will seek the patient’s consent and allow for a seamless flow of health information from the Personal Health Records module.
The Health ID will be voluntary and applicable across all states, hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and pharmacies.
