Amit Shah participated in the All India Official Language Conference in Gujarat’s Surat city on Wednesday stressed on the importance of Hindi and appealed all children to speak in their mother tongue which would pave the way for them to learn Hindi without effort.
“Hindi language is not a competitor but a “friend” of all the other regional languages in the country and their mutual growth is dependent on each other”, Amit Shah said on Wednesday.
The BJP government since 2014 has taken several steps to promote Hindi in government business. “ The government fostered the ‘LILA Hindi Pravah’ app for simple learning; likewise ‘e-Mahashabdkosh’ also available. The New Education Policy mentioned offering school education in regional languages till fifth grade, and Shah added that this to be continue at least till eight grade.
