Mumbai Recounts Murder Rates
Dutt Nagar, Khairani Road, Sakinaka, Mumbai, Maharashtra. A man identified as Deepak Borse allegedly killed his 30-year-old girlfriend, identified as Panchsheela Ashok Jamdar. A resident of Sangharsh Nagar Chandiwali, she was attacked by her boyfriend over some undisclosed issue leading to an escalation of events in an autorickshaw. She tried escaping, as the passerby witnessed, but fell down in some distance. Meanwhile, the man who slit her throat jumped out of the moving auto and absconded from the scene of the crime.Â
However, the police officials were present at some distance and they apprehended the accused who was about to evade the crime scene after committing the brutal murder of his girlfriend in broad daylight. Both of them were rushed to the hospital after the alleged murderer, Deepak Borse, attempted suicide with the same sharp-edged weapon.
“Deepak Borse slit the throat of Panchsheela Jamdar inside a moving autorickshaw. She got out of the vehicle to escape but fell down some distance away. Borse tried to end his life by gashing his neck with the same sharp-edged weapon,” a Sakinaka police official said.
“The woman was declared brought dead and the accused is recuperating”, another official reported.Â
Way Ahead
As sources suggest, Sakinaka Police has taken custody of the accused and registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) which pertains to murder. According to this Section, whoever commits murder is punished either with death, life imprisonment or a fine. Â
The cause and motive behind the brutal attack are yet to be ascertained. Further investigation is the current spine-chilling incident is underway.Â
