Actress Neena Gupta had started her second stint in Bollywood by holding hands with the movie’ Badhai Ho’. As she enjoys the revival of her career, she revisits the time and the post when she had famously asked for work.

The Instagram post where she asked for some “good parts to play” proved to be very instrumental for actress Neena Gupta’s resuscitation of her career. The actress considered quirky and original in her style quickly became of the major bankable stars of Bollywood with “ Badhai Ho”. Currently she is basking under the rays of her sweet hard earned fame. She recently opened up what prompted her to take the gutsy step to post about her wanting suitable roles in movies. In a tete e tete with Indian Express, she disclosed about her now viral 2017 instagram post and her decision to choose the social media to get in the working mode and to comeback to Bollywood.
Neena took a break from working in Bollywood movies to enjoy her moments in married life.
I got married and I thought – ‘let me enjoy married life.’ I was working 24/7 before that and I had no time to enjoy myself, go to a beauty parlour or see a movie or meet people. So, I thought, ‘Chalo maine ab bohot kaam karliya hai (I have done enough work). Now, I have found a good guy. Now, I will enjoy my life and relax.

But soon she realized she was losing respect as a housewife and her leisure period was cut short
But what happened was that I realized that jinke liye main ye sab kar rahi hun (the people I did everything for), they didn’t have time for me. People were always busy with their things. So, I realized that it is wrong and that I have to work because it is the most important thing in everybody’s life. I realized I needed to work. So, I put up that post. And Badhai Ho happened. And I was back

She commented that she really enjoyed her role as a housewife and would have loved to continue but she was not willing to lose her respect for it.
Talking about the renewal of her career, she says that she is enjoying her career and that the opportunities that she has received are good but not as good as the opportunities that are offered to the male counterparts.
Yes, the opportunities are much better. Not good as the men but much better than before. Now, they are no more writing women’s roles as mothers who would say, ‘Khana khaale beta‘ or ‘Raat ko mat jao bahar.’ It is much more than that, which is very good.
